About

Hello! My name is Katie Crotts, and I am a currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, MD.

My main area of expertise includes modelling and characterization of debris disks. Debris disks are dusty disks around main sequence stars of all types and ages, and are created through collisions of rocky bodies such as asteroids and comets. Because these disks are often created and shaped by planets, they are considered to be signposts of exoplanetary systems. My work also involves high contrast imaging of both debris disks and exoplanets.
